Ohio Sees Sharp Rise in Fatalities Due to Meth Overdoses

(Winter 2018) Unfortunately, Ohio is not immune to the uptick in usage of stimulants such as amphetamines and methamphetamines. In fact, recent research shows stimulants were involved in 509 accidental overdose deaths of Ohioans in 2017, as compared to nine such fatalities in 2010 — an increase of more than 5,500%.

Data analysis showed that opioids — in particular, fentanyl — were a factor in most of the deaths related to stimulants and cocaine.
