Help Employees Clean Out Their Medicine Cabinets—Take Back Day Is Oct. 24!

💊 Employers: Help Spread the Word About Prescription Drug Take Back Day!
The DEA’s 31st National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. It’s an opportunity for employees and their families to safely dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medications.
Visit the DEA’s Partnership Toolbox for free promotional materials to help spread the word to your employees:
How can your workplace support this initiative?
📧 Send a reminder through email, your employee app, or payroll communications.
📌 Post flyers in break rooms, near time clocks, and on employee bulletin boards.
🗣️ Mention it during a safety meeting. Explain how disposing of unneeded medications helps prevent misuse and accidental poisoning.
📍 Share nearby collection sites and their addresses so employees can easily plan a drop-off.
📅 Follow up on Friday, October 23, with a reminder to check medicine cabinets before the event.
Direct employees to authorized collection sites rather than collecting medications at work.
