This month’s Client Kudos go to the Diyanni Brothers, Inc. and Diyanni Homes for their absolute commitment to fighting substance abuse in our community – and more importantly, to understanding what it takes!
Working Partners® first met with these organizations in March of 2005 when they were investigating the “investment” of becoming drug-free workplaces. Each of the four brothers and their management team are critical thinkers. With that, they wanted Working Partners® to help them understand:
- what would be involved to become a drug-free workplace,
- what would be the costs,
- what the benefits for their associates and customers would be, and
- how those benefits would be measured.
Based upon the education they required, the Diyanni Brothers worked with the staff of Working Partners® to institute a comprehensive drug-free workplace program.
But then the story gets interesting ...
A hallmark of this organization is its ability to actualize and change reality based upon the beliefs of its leadership. They practice what they preach. As examples, the company made workout facilities available for the health of its associates and ______________for the quality of life for customers. Their attitude is, “If it is good for our associates, it will be good for our customers. Further, if it is good for our associates, it will be good for our trade partners (subcontractors) as well.”
With that, they have set about the process of educating their trade partners and integrating drug-free operations to all areas of their construction projects. In doing so, Diyanni is satisfying one of their guiding principals, “Doing good business serves now and serves the future.”
Trade partners working with Diyanni are required to be drug-free workplaces. But again, Diyanni went beyond making hollow requirements. They have worked with Working Partners® to develop and institute whole systems to make the development and implementation of drug-free workplace program services easy and cost affordable for their trade partners —even the sole proprietors – they employ for construction elements of their homes.
And it doesn’t stop there! The fine Diyanni organization is now moving their drug-free commitment to an even higher, most unique level. They are leveraging what is described in this edition’s President’s Note as “tremendous power to impact substance abuse within a community.” The Diyanni Brothers, Inc. and Diyanni Homes are making a commitment to impact and prevent substance abuse for the adults and children of their community. They worked with the Drug-Free Action Alliance and Working Partners® to sponsor the KNOW! project for a local school.
